As creator of AmpedSense (the WordPress Adsense split testing plugin), I became excited when I first heard about AdPushup a few years ago. AdPushup is an ad split testing service, founded by Ankit Oberoi and Atul Agarwal. Its website explains a lot of the benefits of using AdPushup, but leaves a lot of questions unanswered. For example, how exactly does it integrate? Can I use AdPushup on wordpress? What are the minimum requirements for AdPushup?
I reached out directly to Ankit recently, and he didn’t just want to respond via email – he wanted to chat via Skype. We chatted late one night about the company — I hadn’t heard many great things.
What is AdPushup and are they an ad network?
AdPushup was started in mid-2013, which at the time of this writing makes it about a 4-5-year-old company.
Publishers don’t get paid directly by AdPushup (they don’t claim to be an ad network), instead they’re get paid via the ad network you’re using, such as AdSense. AdPushup also claims to supports Google DFP, but does not currently integrate with all major ad networks.
Requirements for using AdPushup
AdPushup targets smaller publishers, so if you’re a small website or blogger it’s a good fit. You only need a minimum of 10,000 page views per day to be accepted into their program.
AdPushup should work on all platforms of websites, WordPress included. In fact, they do have a WordPress Plugin.
My AdPushup Review
I was hoping to share a personal review with some before and after stats, but after signing up with AdPushup I was never able to get it working properly. I’m assuming this is because they’re currently still working out the kinks and using assisted onboarding.
The reviews of others I have heard have not been great the revenue earned using AdPushup is much less than other services that other more comprehensive or sophisticated solutions.
They seem to offer a lot of features that are available in more accessible, effective, and transparent forms elsewhere. Ultimately, it may be ok to try on a smaller website to see if it could work for you.
Do you make more money with AdPushup?
It’s hard to say. I was never able to try it directly.
Others have not had the best experiences and I’m not sure it’s sophisticated enough for everyone to universally have a positive experience with revenue.
It’s a simple tool that you could try but there are a lot of alternatives that are more likely to increase revenue.
What should larger sites try?
I recommend using Ezoic; which we’ve had good success with. Nearly 10,000 publishers use Ezoic because they offer quite a few different features but everyone seems to make more money and they have some new features for SEO and site speed that are really helpful as well.
Ezoic is a little bit more exclusive and is designed for medium-large websites but I know many sites with just a few more than 10K visitors per month that have gotten into using their platform and doubled or tripled their AdSense or Google DFP earnings.
